Saturn Taught Me Something Through My Client’s Chart

I have been learning Saturn.
That might sound like a strange thing to say. Saturn is a planet. You don’t “learn” a planet the way you learn a language or a skill. But if you’ve spent any time with astrology, you know what I mean. Some energies feel native to you. Others feel like a country you’ve never lived in, where the customs are foreign and the language takes years to come.
Saturn is that for me.
Saturn sits on my Sun. And I didn’t grow up with a lot of stability. No deep roots, no slow and steady, no one modeling what it looks like to build something brick by brick over years and trust that it would hold. What I knew was fluid, shifting, uncertain. And so for a long time, I moved that way too. I wanted to leap ahead. I didn’t know how to trust a process I couldn’t feel yet.
Learning Saturn has meant learning something I was never taught. How to build a foundation. How to build it strong enough that when a storm comes, it doesn’t take everything with it.
A few weeks ago, I sat down and prayed. I said, I’m going to build this right. I’m going to build it on solid ground. I didn’t mean just my business, but my entire life and sense of self.
About a week later, I lost all of my social media. Years of content. My entire Instagram community. Gone overnight, without warning.
At first, it was devastating. Of course it was.
And then something shifted. I thought: this is the lesson. Not a punishment. An invitation. Build it better. Build it on ground that no platform owns. Build it so it belongs to you.
That’s what I’m doing now. I’m creating it securely from the ground up. All of it.
A few days ago, I was doing a chart reading for a client. I won’t share her name, but I will tell you this: she has been one of my most loyal supporters. She has shown up for my work more than almost anyone.
As I moved through her chart, I noticed something. Saturn dominant. Earth dominant. Capricorn dominant. Everything I have been working so hard to learn, she carries naturally. The placements that feel foreign to me, like a second language I’m still fumbling through, are her mother tongue.
My chart is fluid. It moves like water. I don’t carry a lot of earth. What grounds me, I’ve had to build deliberately, consciously, sometimes painfully.
And there she was. A woman who is, by nature, what I am learning to become.
I started to cry a little, right there in the middle of the reading.
Because here is what astrology does when you let it. It doesn’t just describe a person. It holds up a mirror. And sometimes the mirror isn’t for the person sitting across from you. Sometimes it’s for you.
We talk a lot in astrology about what your chart asks of you. The hard placements. The lessons. The karmic patterns you’re here to work through.
But here’s what I want you to sit with today.
What if what is difficult in your chart is also a gift you carry for someone else?
What if the thing that comes so naturally to you, the thing you barely notice because it’s just how you are, is actually what someone near you is quietly working toward? Working and praying and sometimes failing and trying again to find?
She didn’t know, when she kept showing up to support my work, that she was reflecting something back to me. She was just being herself. Saturn dominant. Steady. Faithful. Consistent.
That is the gift.
The universe has a sense of humor, and also a profound sense of poetry. It will send you the lesson in the most unexpected wrapping.
Sometimes the lesson shows up in a loss.
Sometimes it shows up in a client’s chart.
Sometimes it shows up as both, in the same week, saying the same thing.
Build it right. Build it to last.
I’m listening.
If your chart has always felt like a mystery, or like it’s telling you something you can’t quite translate, the Foundation Reading might be exactly what you need. I go deep, soul-level deep, into what your chart is actually asking of you.

Some people wear sunglasses to protect their eyes. I wear them to avoid contact.
I’m a Scorpio Moon, and eye contact is a full energetic exchange, not a social pleasantry. Scorpio perceives through the eyes. I read people fast and deep. I’m often picking up on things they haven’t said, and sometimes things they don’t even know about themselves. And it goes both ways. Our eyes transmit so much. So when you lock in with someone, there’s a real exchange happening. Many of us can feel it.
So sunglasses become a boundary. A few reasons this shows up:
Sometimes I’m feeling energetically overwhelmed in crowded or public spaces, and every meeting of the eyes is a small download. Sunglasses let me move through the world without absorbing everyone.
Sometimes I’m protecting my inner state. As a Scorpio Moon, I don’t want to be read when I’m in a certain mood. Maybe I’m fragile. Maybe I’m vulnerable. Maybe I’m simply not in the mood to be perceived. Eyes are the windows to the soul. They give us away, especially when there’s a lot of depth behind them. It’s hard to hide the mood.
And Scorpio rules what’s hidden. Being able to see without being seen is genuinely soothing to this placement. It’s the same instinct that makes Scorpio want to know everyone’s depth while keeping our own veiled until we feel ready to reveal it.
There’s also the question of unwanted intimacy. Eye contact with the wrong person, someone draining, intrusive, or who just energetically feels off, can feel invasive. Sunglasses close the circuit before it opens.
And for someone like me, where so much of my work is energetic and deep, this matters. If I’ve been doing readings, deep work, or have already exchanged a lot of intimacy with people I love, through friendships, through clients, I’m already energetically drained. I need to bring my energy back in. After readings or deep work, I can feel very fragile. Left a little porous. Sunglasses help me stay sealed while I walk back into the world. They let me pull my energy back. It’s almost like an introversion.
So it isn’t anxious avoidance. I’m not avoiding from an anxious place. I’m protecting my energy, which I consider quite sacred, and not for casual consumption.
It’s also about boundaries. I’m a pretty open, friendly person as a whole. But sometimes people can take advantage of that. And sometimes I simply don’t want to be doing casual interactions all day, because there’s one thing that’s always worth protecting. Your energy. Your heart. Your space. All of it. Not everybody deserves access. And when you’re very deeply perceiving, when you can actually feel energy, you feel even more keenly how much you need to protect it. How much you need a boundary.
And sometimes that boundary comes in the form of a twenty dollar pair of sunglasses.

Side note: There are other placements in the chart that show this kind of energy. It might not be a Scorpio Moon. It could be Pluto on your Ascendant, an 8th house Sun, a heavy water chart, a Pisces stellium, or any number of placements that mark someone as a deep perceiver. The chart will show it.

Psychology Asks Questions. Astrology Gives You Answers.
Why astrology became my shortcut to self-awareness after years of therapy couldn’t.

I dropped out of university studying psychology. Funny enough, I don’t find psychology and astrology all that different. Obviously, psychology and astrology are fundamentally different disciplines. But what I’ve noticed is that the people drawn to both share something: they’re seekers. They’re growth-oriented. They want to understand themselves, and they’re willing to do the work of healing.
Both are seeking to answer the same question: why am I the way I am? But they approach it from opposite directions.
Psychology excavates. It asks you to dig deeper into the hole, to turn the problem over and over, examining it from every angle. A therapist’s job is often to help you find your own answers by asking the right questions. And there’s tremendous value in that work. I’m a big advocate of therapy. I’ve done deep inner work through talk therapy, plant medicine, shadow work, and years of self-help reading. That foundation is important.
But here’s what I’ve noticed: talk therapy can sometimes feel like circles. You discuss the problem, and in discussing it, the problem can feel bigger. You keep talking about it, keep analyzing it, and sometimes you never quite arrive at the answer because the work of finding it is left entirely to you.
Astrology, on the other hand, illuminates. It hands you a map of the terrain so you understand why the hole exists in the first place.
I’ve always been the kind of person who wants shortcuts. I want to know why something is happening. I want to understand it on a soul level. Astrology has been the best self-awareness tool I’ve ever encountered because it doesn’t ask me to sit and ponder endlessly. It shows me why I’m wired the way I am and what the lessons are embedded in that wiring.
When Sensitivity Looks Like Illness
Here’s a concrete example. You might think you have deep psychological wounding, but your chart might simply show you’re a deeply emotional, sensitive person. A lot of water placements, for instance. You have a moon in Scorpio (like myself) which makes you someone who feels things intensely. You experience emotions at a depth that others might not. This intensity can look like depression. It can feel like pathology when really, it’s just your soul’s design.
Once you understand that? Everything shifts. And that awareness—that reframing—can take years to arrive at in therapy. Astrology can show it to you in a reading.
Both Matter
I’m not saying therapy doesn’t have a place. If you’re in crisis, if you need real clinical support, astrology is not a substitute. Please seek help. Please do the therapy.
What I’m saying is this: astrology can give you the why in months or even a single reading. Once you have that awareness, therapy and inner work become targeted and purposeful instead of circular. You’re not asking “what’s wrong with me?” anymore. You’re asking “given who I am, how do I work with this?” That’s a completely different conversation.
I’ve done both. The astrology didn’t replace the therapy. It accelerated my understanding in a way that made the therapy more effective.
If you’re curious about your chart, I offer natal readings that illuminate your why.Mar x
